Based in Vancouver, Canada 
Helena Hockertz is a Canadian writer/director/editor and VFX Artist born and raised in Taiwan. She moved to Canada for high school, where she discovered her love for cinema, and graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Film & Television and a minor in Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology. Her films explore themes of identity, perception, and transformation through a mix of grounded narrative and surreal visuals.
Recently, she has expanded her work into real-time and procedural workflows using Unreal Engine, with a growing focus on visual effects, bridging compositing and FX, and technical pipelines for film and virtual production.
